DFMS project was funded by the UK Space Agency (UKSA) and implemented by a consortium of organizations led by RHEATECH Ltd, including the Ministry of Water and Environment. The aim of the project was to provide the people of Uganda with practical information that will help them respond to the effects of climate change. DFMS set out to accomplish this objective through satellite and ground-based data combined with drought and flood models, to provide not only more reliable weather forecasts, but as well as information on soil moisture levels, land surface temperature, land cover classifications, flood levels, etc. ATTA supported this project through ground truthing information of data collection of farming and herding activities as well as crop yield and livestock body condition assessment for monitoring purposes.
